PREPARATORY COURSE
Preparatory Course for Foreign Students at Bukovinian State Medical University
Before enrolling in Bukovinian State Medical University (BSMU), foreign students have the opportunity to receive high-quality foundational training at the university’s Preparatory Course with a specialization in Public Health. This program is designed to help international applicants successfully adapt to the Ukrainian educational system, strengthen their academic background, and prepare for further studies in medical and healthcare-related specialties.
The Preparatory Department provides a 10-month intensive training course focused on mastering essential natural sciences and developing language skills required for future medical studies. The curriculum includes a comprehensive range of subjects, such as Ukrainian language, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Country Studies, and Fundamentals of Computer Science and Technology. These disciplines are carefully selected to ensure that students acquire the knowledge needed for successful admission and study at the Bachelor or Master level within BSMU.
For foreign students planning to continue their education in English-medium programs, the main subjects are also taught in English. This dual-language approach allows students to confidently transition into academic programs such as Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Nursing, and Public Health, while ensuring strong communication skills in both Ukrainian and English.
Studying the Preparatory course not only improves academic readiness but also supports cultural and social integration. Students learn about Ukrainian traditions, history, and daily life, which helps them adapt comfortably to the new environment and enjoy their educational experience in Ukraine.
Upon successful completion of the preparatory course and final examinations, students receive an official certificate, which includes a recommendation for enrollment in higher educational institutions of Ukraine. This certificate significantly increases the chances of successful admission and academic performance during further studies at BSMU.
Admission is open all year round, making the program flexible and accessible to students from different countries. Duration of training: 40 weeks (2 semesters).
The Preparatory course of Bukovinian State Medical University is an excellent first step for international students who aim to pursue medical education in Ukraine and build a strong academic foundation for future professional success.
